NYPD Seeks Barefoot Suspects in Fatal Queens U-Haul Hit-and-Run

Two women fled the scene after a U-Haul truck struck and killed a pedestrian in Flushing early Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred near Queens College around 12:30 a.m., involving a U-Haul truck and a Honda Accord.
David Opiela, 56, was killed when the U-Haul mounted a curb and hit him and a light pole.
The U-Haul also struck another vehicle before the driver and passenger fled barefoot.
The driver of the Honda Accord was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are actively searching for the two women who abandoned the U-Haul at the scene.
