Overview
- The infant girl was discovered just before 9:30 a.m. Monday on stairs to the southbound 1/2/3 platform at 34th Street–Penn Station and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
- Police say video shows a woman leaving the baby at about 9:04 a.m. before exiting the station; she is wanted for questioning in a case of endangering the welfare of a child.
- Investigators reported the baby’s umbilical cord was still attached but said there is no evidence the birth occurred on a train or in the station.
