NYPD Releases Surveillance of Trio Who Stole $3.2 Million in Jewelry From Queens Home

Investigators suspect the burglary targeted a jeweler previously hit in a separate $800,000 theft.

Overview

  • On Oct. 16 around 2:20 p.m., two men posing as construction workers forced a rear door at a Jamaica Hills residence and removed a safe containing jewelry valued at about $3.2 million.
  • The suspects left in a blue Hyundai Elantra, with surveillance showing the car departing east on 84th Drive and the getaway driver wearing a white hoodie.
  • Police on Oct. 28–29 released photos and video with detailed clothing descriptions and asked the public to submit tips to Crime Stoppers.
  • No one was home during the break-in and no injuries were reported, and there have been no arrests to date.
  • The homeowner, a jeweler, told reporters the safe was not bolted down and contained mostly his daughter's jewelry, and he noted his store was robbed of roughly $800,000 in December 2024 as police review possible links.
