NYPD Releases Photos After Astoria Rolls-Royce Carjacking, Tracks Car to Brooklyn Garage

Detectives released surveillance images of two suspects to generate public tips.

Overview

  • Four masked men, each displaying a gun, confronted a 34-year-old driver around 5:20 a.m. Friday at 31st Street and 35th Avenue in Astoria, police said.
  • The crew arrived in a gray Dodge Durango, took the victim's watch and keys, and split their getaway between the stolen Rolls-Royce and the Durango.
  • Inside the Rolls-Royce, police said, were the victim's registered firearm, cellphone, watch, and jacket, all reported stolen; the victim was not injured.
  • Detectives say the stolen car was later tracked to a Crown Heights parking garage, where two suspects were recorded without masks entering the vehicle.
  • Images of two of the four suspects have been released as the investigation continues with no arrests, and police have not determined whether a similar Brooklyn Maybach carjacking earlier in the week is connected.
