Overview

• The NYPD posted the body-worn camera footage on August 14 showing officers from the 67th Precinct pursuing and tackling the 15-year-old suspect in East Flatbush.
• Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and a 911 call reporting gunfire at 819 East 45th Street and allege the teen fired at least four shots at another male before fleeing.
• A witness show-up identified the apprehended youth as the intended target of the shooting, officials said.
• During the chase, officers recovered a loaded 9 mm Cannik handgun from the suspect’s waistband and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon, including a count for possession near a Catholic academy entrance.
