NYPD Officers Fatally Shoot Armed Man in Staten Island Parking Lot

Police responded to a 911 call made by the armed man himself, who was sitting in a black Jeep Wrangler and firing shots into the air, according to officials and sources.
Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation by instructing the man to drop his weapon, but he refused and pointed the firearm at them, leading to five officers opening fire.
The suspect, identified as a 55-year-old man, was struck multiple times and later pronounced dead at Staten Island University North Hospital after officers performed life-saving measures.
The NYPD's Force Investigation Division is reviewing the incident, which was captured on body-worn camera footage and multiple security cameras.
