NYPD Officer Arrested for Allegedly Selling Large Quantities of Fentanyl, Heroin On-Duty

NYPD Officer Grace Baez and Cesar Martinez were arrested for allegedly selling large quantities of fentanyl and heroin while Baez was on duty. She was already on modified duty due to alleged misconduct in 2020.
Baez and Martinez attempted to sell substantial quantities of narcotics to an undercover informant from October 9 to October 19, offering 'top quality' fentanyl in a candy container as a sample.
Baez, who has been on the force since 2012, allegedly arranged multiple meetings with the informant while on desk duty. She was arrested after the informant handed over the drugs to law enforcement.
Upon Baez's arrest, police raided the home she and Martinez shared in Yonkers, where they found him trying to dispose of a package of narcotics, a kilogram press machine, and additional drugs.
Both Baez and Martinez face charges of conspiracy to distribute narcotics and narcotics distribution. They could potentially face decades in prison if convicted.
