Overview

• The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment announced the inaugural ceremony devoted to theatre and live performance, to be hosted by Mayor Eric Adams and Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman.
• Honorees are LaChanze, Susan Feldman, Ken Sunshine, Patricia Delgado, and Justin Peck.
• A trio of musicians from Maybe Happy Ending and Hell’s Kitchen will perform as part of the Broadway Musicians Equity Partnership.
• The program, launched in 2006 for film, TV and digital media, is recognizing an all–live performance cohort for the first time and brings the awards total to 82.
• The event aligns with recent city initiatives including the Live Performance Industry Council, the Stagecraft Bootcamp, and Seats on the Spectrum.
