NYC Unveils Theatre-Focused ‘Made in NY’ Awards, Naming Five Honorees for Sept. 15 at Gracie Mansion

City officials cast the new honors as part of a broader push to strengthen equity, access, workforce pathways in live performance.

  • The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment announced the inaugural ceremony devoted to theatre and live performance, to be hosted by Mayor Eric Adams and Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman.
  • Honorees are LaChanze, Susan Feldman, Ken Sunshine, Patricia Delgado, and Justin Peck.
  • A trio of musicians from Maybe Happy Ending and Hell’s Kitchen will perform as part of the Broadway Musicians Equity Partnership.
  • The program, launched in 2006 for film, TV and digital media, is recognizing an all–live performance cohort for the first time and brings the awards total to 82.
