NYC Turnout Tops 1.8 Million With Polls Closing at 9 P.M.

The Board of Elections reports 1.74 million in-person check-ins plus about 100,000 mail ballots.

  • At 3 p.m., citywide check-ins reached 1,451,942, including early voters, according to BOE data.
  • Early voting from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2 drew about 735,000 ballots, setting a record pace reported ahead of Election Day.
  • Polls close at 9 p.m., and voters who are in line by that time retain the legal right to cast a ballot.
  • Final tabulation will accelerate after polls close, with results to be reported as counting continues.
