- Vernon Boulevard in Queens and Forest Avenue in Staten Island closed today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the kickoff of Summer Streets
- The program spans five consecutive Saturdays through August 23, with uninterrupted car-free lanes across Manhattan set for August 2, 9 and 16 and final closures in Brooklyn and the Bronx on August 23
- For the first time, a continuous car-free stretch will run the full length of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge to Inwood
- Partners including New York Road Runners will host run-and-walk courses, group bike rides and public art installations along the closed streets
- Lyft is offering free Citi Bike day passes with promo code “LYFTSUMMER25” and the DOT has expanded coverage to over 400 blocks in celebration of the city’s 400th anniversary
