NYC Releases Early Voting Schedule Ahead of Nov. 4 Mayoral Election

Election administrators have set early voting for Oct. 25–Nov. 2 with mail-ballot rules that limit machine voting once a ballot is issued.

Overview

  • Early voting runs from Saturday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 2, according to the NYC Board of Elections.
  • Key deadlines: change of address by Oct. 20, voter registration by Oct. 25, and vote-by-mail applications due by Oct. 25.
  • If you receive an early mail or absentee ballot, you cannot use a voting machine at your poll site; if you do not use it, you may vote in person only with an affidavit ballot.
  • Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; mail-in ballots must be submitted by Nov. 3.
  • The mayoral field features Zohran Mamdani, Andrew M. Cuomo, and Curtis Sliwa, with Mamdani leading in Polymarket and a recent Quinnipiac poll; Eric Adams has withdrawn but remains on the ballot due to missed deadlines.
