Overview

  • Democratic frontrunner Zohran Mamdani faces independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa for mayor.
  • Early voting runs from Oct. 25 through Nov. 2, and Oct. 25 is the last day to register for the general election.
  • Proposals 2 and 3 would replace parts of the seven‑month ULURP with expedited reviews for targeted affordable housing and smaller projects, shifting final decisions to the City Planning Commission and Board of Standards and Appeals.
  • Proposal 4 would create an Affordable Housing Appeals Board of the mayor, the City Council speaker and the borough president to overturn Council decisions by a two‑to‑one vote, drawing opposition from Council leadership.
  • Proposal 6 would move city elections to presidential years to increase voter participation.
