NYC Jewish Cafe Owner Receives Massive Support from Community and Suppliers after Baristas Quit Over Pro-Israel Stance

Cafe Aronne witnesses surge in business as New Yorkers and suppliers rally in support, following workers' walkout over the owner's pro-Israel fundraising.

  • Cafe Aronne in NYC's Upper East Side has received an outpouring of support from the community and suppliers after five baristas quit over the owner's pro-Israel stance following Hamas attacks in October.
  • Suppliers, including Long Island-based Avco Industries and Stack Street Coffee Roasters in upstate New York, sent free shipments of coffee beans and cups after hearing about the situation.
  • There has been a surge in customers, with lines stretching around the corner, with many supporters holding Israel's flag while waiting for their coffee. Customers also include non-Jewish supporters who resonate with the owner's message promoting love and unity to combat evil.
  • Support has extended online, with the Cafe seeing a huge increase in support on social media. Caffe Aronne also hopes to raise $36,000 for Magen David Adom, the Israeli Red Cross.
  • The local Jewish community, doctors, and rabbis have also shown their support by volunteering to work in the cafe and encouraging people to buy gift cards and menu items. One Israeli refugee even offered her services to help serve people at the cafe.
