- DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the expansion at the ribbon-cutting for LaGuardia Community College’s new 29th Street Plaza in Long Island City.
- The two-week program will convert selected streets, plazas and corridors in all five boroughs into vehicle-free spaces for Halloween and harvest activities.
- A Día de Muertos event will be presented in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
- Signature events include Oct. 18 on Castleton Avenue (Staten Island), Oct. 24 on 61st Street (Queens), Oct. 25 on Franklin Avenue (Brooklyn), and Oct. 31 on Manor Avenue (Bronx) and St. Nicholas Avenue (Manhattan).
