NWSL and Liga MX Femenil Launch Historic Summer Cup

The inaugural NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, featuring teams from North America's top women's soccer leagues, is set to kick off on July 19.

All 14 NWSL clubs and the top six Liga MX Femenil teams will participate in the tournament, marking a significant alliance between the leagues.
The tournament will begin with a group stage from July 19 through August 2, followed by semifinals and a championship match in late October.
Fixture congestion is a concern, with some NWSL teams also competing in the Concacaf W Champions Cup starting in August.
The Summer Cup aims to elevate the global standard of women's soccer, foster new rivalries, and tap into collective fanbases.
Major transfers between the leagues have been increasing, including significant player moves in 2023.
