NWS Warns of Coastal Flooding in Six N.J. Counties Sunday–Monday

Forecasters warn of moderate to major coastal flooding, with very high surf capable of severe beach erosion, possible dune breaches.

  • Coastal flood warnings are in effect for Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May, Ocean, Burlington and Salem counties.
  • Most affected counties face two to three feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying coastal and tidal areas.
  • Salem County is forecast to see one to two feet of inundation, a lower but still hazardous level.
  • The warning period runs from Sunday 8 a.m. to Monday 8 p.m. for most counties, with Salem set for Sunday 11 a.m. to Monday 9 p.m.
