NWS Updates Yosemite Thunderstorm Alert as Slow‑Moving Cell Brings Hail, Lightning, Flooding Risk

The National Weather Service extended the radar-based alert to 2:30 p.m. after a slow-moving cell near Buck Camp Ranger Station showed torrential rain, small hail, frequent lightning.

Yosemite, Yosemite Valley and Upper San Joaquin River are the focus of a weather alert for strong thunderstorms issued at 1:38 p.m. on Thursday by the National Weather Service. The alert is in effect until 2:15 p.m.
