Overview
- A freeze warning runs from midnight to 9 a.m. Thursday for numerous northern Michigan counties, with sub-freezing lows down to 25°F expected.
- The warning area includes Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and additional nearby counties.
- Most of Southeast Michigan is under a frost advisory from 12:01 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, covering Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair and Washtenaw.
- A separate frost advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale and Berrien, where lows of 32–36°F could produce frost.
- The National Weather Service warns frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, while near-shore Lake Michigan areas may stay near 40°F and avoid frost.
