• Mobile County, Alabama, received a late-afternoon alert for strong thunderstorms bringing 40 mph gusts, torrential rain with localized flooding risk and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning near Grand Bay.
• Earlier Friday, additional Alabama counties from Franklin and Lawrence to Fayette, Walker, Marion and Winston saw brief alerts for 40–50 mph gusts, with NWS guidance to seek indoor shelter, avoid flooded roads and wait 30 minutes after the last thunder.
