Nvidia to Supply Over 260,000 Blackwell GPUs for South Korea’s AI Buildout

The coordinated program links Nvidia platforms with Korean manufacturers to build AI factories for sovereign computing capacity.

Overview

  • Allocations include up to 50,000 GPUs each for Samsung Electronics, SK Group and Hyundai Motor Group, 60,000 for Naver Cloud, and roughly 50,000 for government projects.
  • Samsung announced an AI megafactory powered by more than 50,000 Nvidia chips using Omniverse for digital twins and cuLitho for faster computational lithography.
  • South Korea will expand national AI computing through centers such as the National AI Computing Center, with projects spanning manufacturing, robotics, autonomous driving and industrial digital twins.
  • SK Group plans an AI manufacturing cloud and a domestic AI factory using 50,000 GPUs, alongside an AI‑RAN research pact with Nvidia, Samsung and SK Telecom.
  • Industry watchers expect the deployment to drive a surge in HBM demand, with an estimated 2.08 million HBM units likely sourced largely from Samsung and SK hynix, though financial terms and schedules were not disclosed.
