Overview

  • Nvidia will for the first time join over 100 Western exhibitors at the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing this July.
  • The number of US companies at the expo has increased by 15 percent since 2024 and non-mainland Chinese participants now account for 35 percent of exhibitors.
  • In April the US Commerce Department imposed export controls that halted Nvidia’s sales of H20 AI chips to China and barred purchases of Chinese-made semiconductors.
  • Nvidia reported an approximately $8 billion revenue shortfall in its second quarter of 2025 due to restrictions on its chip exports.
  • CEO Jensen Huang argued that US export curbs have bolstered China’s domestic AI chip industry and said the new controls-compliant processor will arrive in September 2025.
