Overview
- Nvidia’s GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver re-enables GPU-accelerated PhysX on RTX 50-series GPUs for a curated set of legacy games through per‑title profiles.
- Nine classics are supported now, including Alice: Madness Returns, Borderlands 2, Metro 2033 and Last Light, Mirror’s Edge, plus Batman: Arkham City and Origins.
- Batman: Arkham Asylum is slated to receive compatibility in early 2026, and Nvidia has not committed to further additions beyond the announced list.
- PhysX acceleration broke on RTX 50 earlier this year when 32‑bit CUDA was removed, pushing effects to the CPU and causing steep performance losses in older titles.
- The driver is available via the Nvidia app and website and also includes optimizations and fixes for Battlefield 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with DLSS 4, The Witcher 3 visual artifacts, and Adobe Premiere Pro stability.
