Nvidia Launches DSX Ready and Certifies Large LG Cooling and Battery Systems

The program links Nvidia’s DSX AI factory designs to specific battery and cooling products to lower integration risk for builders.

Overview

  • Nvidia introduced DSX Ready as a qualification program that maps its DSX AI factory reference designs to partner products in order to help builders evaluate power and cooling choices.
  • The program launched with two initial categories, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and cooling distribution units (CDUs), and named an initial roster of qualified vendors.
  • Most recent qualifications include LG Electronics’ 2.5-megawatt CDU and LG Energy Solution’s JF2 AC Link BESS, both listed by Nvidia as meeting DSX Ready criteria.
  • Nvidia requires BESS partners to run defined tests and submit data for review while CDU vendors use a self-qualification suite, and Nvidia says passing does not replace site-level engineering or guarantee site stability.
  • The move reflects a wider shift to large-scale liquid cooling and modular battery systems as rack power densities rise, and vendors are adding features such as tight temperature control, leak detection, LFP battery chemistry, and software for load smoothing.
