NVIDIA Instructs Board Partners to Accept Higher GeForce Kit Prices as Shipments Pause
Rising GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory quotes forced NVIDIA to ask board partners to share higher GPU kit costs.
Overview
- Multiple outlets reported that on July 23–24 NVIDIA told AIC/AIB board partners that GPU core plus GDDR kit shipping prices will rise for nearly the entire GeForce RTX line.
- Memory makers raised GDDR6 and GDDR7 quotes and are shifting capacity toward HBM for AI, which reduced available GDDR supply and pushed up contract prices.
- Board partners and factories have reacted by tightening supply, reportedly sealing warehouses and pausing outbound shipments while they wait for new pricing terms.
- Some vendors have already adjusted factory outbound costs and retailers temporarily removed listings; NVIDIA-delivered RTX 50 SUPER GPUs exist but their public launches have been delayed and entry models such as an RTX 5050 9GB project were paused.
- NVIDIA is expected to finalize a new pricing policy in August and industry forecasts from TrendForce project Q3 DRAM contract prices will rise another 13–18 percent, raising the likelihood of higher retail GPU prices.
