Overview
- Nvidia will provide more than 260,000 Blackwell GPUs, including 50,000 each to Samsung, SK Group and Hyundai, 60,000 to Naver Cloud and 50,000 to the government.
- The science ministry said the public-sector GPUs will support homegrown foundation models and state-run AI computing centers as part of a sovereign AI effort.
- Nvidia indicated the rollout will lift Korea’s AI GPU count from about 65,000 to more than 300,000, while deal value and delivery schedules were not disclosed.
- Samsung confirmed it is supplying qualified HBM3E, having passed Nvidia’s quality test for its 12-layer product.
- Hyundai said it will build a supercomputer to develop in-vehicle AI, autonomous driving, smart factories and robotics, with the announcement following high-profile meetings during APEC.
