Nvidia Commits Over 260,000 Blackwell GPUs to South Korea in Major AI Push

Samsung will supply HBM3E memory to Nvidia, underscoring Korea’s central role in AI hardware.

  • Nvidia will provide more than 260,000 Blackwell GPUs, including 50,000 each to Samsung, SK Group and Hyundai, 60,000 to Naver Cloud and 50,000 to the government.
  • The science ministry said the public-sector GPUs will support homegrown foundation models and state-run AI computing centers as part of a sovereign AI effort.
  • Nvidia indicated the rollout will lift Korea’s AI GPU count from about 65,000 to more than 300,000, while deal value and delivery schedules were not disclosed.
  • Samsung confirmed it is supplying qualified HBM3E, having passed Nvidia’s quality test for its 12-layer product.
