Nvidia Adds Omniverse Libraries to Agent Toolkit
Open-source ovrtx, ovphysx and CAD-to-SimReady provide sensor simulation, GPU physics plus CAD-to-OpenUSD conversion to speed testing for robots, factory systems and autonomous machines.
Overview
- Nvidia announced on July 20 that it has integrated Omniverse libraries into its Agent Toolkit and published ovrtx, ovphysx and CAD-to-SimReady on GitHub under an open-source license.
- Ovrtx produces RTX-based virtual camera, lidar and radar outputs, ovphysx runs GPU-accelerated physics for realistic object behavior, and CAD-to-SimReady converts CAD files into OpenUSD assets ready for simulation.
- The company demonstrated a SimReady Blender workflow at SIGGRAPH and released a Blender integration blueprint plus sample workflows to help artists and engineers move assets from design into simulation.
- Early adopters including SideFX, PTC, ForgeCAD, Lightwheel, Moonlake AI and Palatial are embedding the libraries into Houdini, Onshape and other products, with support for both cloud and on-premises deployments.
- By lowering the friction to create simulation-ready scenes, the release aims to speed validation of robots and autonomous systems, reduce costly physical testing and broaden the developer ecosystem around Nvidia’s simulation stack.
