  • During the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium, 21-year-old Callum Lawson suffered two cardiac arrests and was revived on the spot with chest compressions and a defibrillator
  • Brian Soulsby, a nurse practitioner trained in Basic Life Support and Immediate Life Support and a youth coach at Wearside FC, led the life-saving effort
  • Callum Lawson remains in hospital recovering and has sent a video message of thanks to Soulsby
  • The match kickoff at 3:01pm formed part of the Every Minute Matters campaign aimed at encouraging spectators to learn CPR
  • In response to the incident the Red Sky Foundation has pledged CPR training for Wearside FC coaches and players and provided a portable defibrillator ahead of October’s Restart a Heart Day
