Nuit Blanche Toronto Returns Oct. 4–5 With 'Translating the City'

This year’s edition concentrates installations into three hubs with City-curated exhibitions.

Overview

  • The 19th annual, free festival runs 7 p.m. Oct. 4 to 7 a.m. Oct. 5 across public spaces citywide.
  • Installations will span Downtown, North York and Etobicoke, transforming streets, parks and civic sites.
  • The City will stage three curated exhibitions—Collective Composition (Laura Nanni), From here, there, everywhere (Renata Azevedo Moreira) and Poetic Justice (Charlene K. Lau).
  • More than 85 works are reported, with highlights such as Ellen Pau’s The Eye of Wisdom and Diatomic States by Dylan Alsop, Elle Morris and James Jordan.
  • Free talks and workshops run Sept. 13–Oct. 7, and TTC overnight service updates for Lines 1 and 2 are expected in early October.
