Nuevo León Launches Statewide Mobility Plan With 2,200 Connected Buses and Smart Signals

The plan’s first phase enrolls thousands of C5-equipped buses into service under a new Sintram control center.

Overview

  • Governor Samuel García presented the plan around Dignified Transport, Smart Mobility, Shared Responsibility and Alternative Modes, backed by 60 billion pesos—six times the previous administration’s investment.
  • The state has deployed 2,200 low-emission buses featuring free Wi-Fi, C5 surveillance cameras and GPS linkage to Sintram, with 1,200 additional units expected by December.
  • A Sintram operations center housed in the Fuerza Civil building now synchronizes 1,500 traffic signals across the Monterrey metropolitan area to optimize flow.
  • Plans call for “turbocharging” Metro Lines 4 and 6 to double total network mileage, with the Line 6 extension to Apodaca airport 17% complete under a 50/50 Banobras funding model.
  • The licensing process for a SaltilloNuevo Laredo passenger train has begun under President Claudia Sheinbaum’s oversight to integrate regional rail corridors.
