Overview

  • Governor Samuel García oversaw production at the Volvo-Marcopolo plant, pledging that all future public transport renewals will be manufactured locally in Nuevo León.
  • The fleet includes electric, hybrid and Euro 6 diesel buses featuring low-floor universal access, climate control, free Wi-Fi, GPS geolocation and C5 connectivity.
  • A new Fuerza Civil program will conduct random security inspections on all buses and Metro cars to enhance passenger safety.
  • Currently 1,800 buses and 400 TransMetro vehicles operate in the Monterrey area, with 1,800 more units due by December and a 4,000-bus target set for 2026.
  • Local assembly at the Volvo-Marcopolo plant has created jobs and uses more than 80% national content to boost the state’s supplier network.
