NTPC Bongaigaon, ACCF Sign Rs 33 Lakh Deal to Expand Kokrajhar Cancer Screening

Overview
- NTPC Bongaigaon signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation on Saturday to run a community-based screening project in Kokrajhar under its CSR programme.
- The year-long effort is funded at Rs 33 lakh and is planned as the second consecutive term since its 2024–25 start.
- Around 80,000 to 81,000 residents are targeted for preventive and diagnostic services across villages in the district.
- Outreach will run through four Block Primary Health Centres and approximately 80 Health and Wellness Centres to strengthen last-mile access.
- Activities include early detection of oral, breast and cervical cancers, awareness drives, home-based palliative care, and linkage of confirmed patients to cashless or reimbursable government schemes.
