NTPC Bongaigaon, ACCF Sign Rs 33 Lakh Deal to Expand Kokrajhar Cancer Screening

The tie-up launches a second-year phase within Assam’s Tata Trust–supported cancer grid.

Overview

NTPC Bongaigaon signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation on Saturday to run a community-based screening project in Kokrajhar under its CSR programme.
The year-long effort is funded at Rs 33 lakh and is planned as the second consecutive term since its 2024–25 start.
Around 80,000 to 81,000 residents are targeted for preventive and diagnostic services across villages in the district.
Outreach will run through four Block Primary Health Centres and approximately 80 Health and Wellness Centres to strengthen last-mile access.
Activities include early detection of oral, breast and cervical cancers, awareness drives, home-based palliative care, and linkage of confirmed patients to cashless or reimbursable government schemes.
