NTA to Focus Solely on Higher Education Entrance Exams Starting 2025

The National Testing Agency will cease conducting recruitment exams and implement reforms to enhance transparency and efficiency in entrance testing.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the NTA will exclusively handle entrance exams for higher education institutions starting in 2025.
The decision follows recommendations from a high-level panel formed to address controversies, including alleged exam paper leaks and cancellations.
Reforms will include the restructuring of the NTA, with at least 10 new administrative and technical posts being created to ensure error-free testing processes.
Discussions are underway between the Education and Health Ministries to decide whether the NEET-UG exam will transition from offline to online mode, with a decision expected soon.
The panel also proposed creating a nationwide network of standardized test centers, leveraging Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to improve accessibility.
