NTA Schedules UGC‑NET June 2026 Exams From June 22 to 30

The subject‑wise timetable expands eligibility and testing locations with city allotment slips due before admit cards are issued

Overview

  • The National Testing Agency published the subject‑wise UGC‑NET schedule on Saturday, June 6, setting computer‑based tests across the country from June 22 to June 30.
  • Each day will have two shifts running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in a format of two papers that total 150 questions for 300 marks with no negative marking.
  • The June session covers about 87 subjects after the University Grants Commission added Forestry and Statistics to the UGC‑NET list.
  • NTA has expanded exam centres to improve access, adding sites such as Namsai, Kakching, Bishnupur and Cherrapunji, and will post city‑intimation slips about eight to ten days before candidates’ test dates with admit cards to follow.
  • UGC‑NET determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, assistant professor posts and PhD entry, so the schedule and new centres could reduce travel hurdles for remote candidates and broaden who can sit the eligibility test.
