NTA Publishes Provisional Answer Keys for 84 UGC‑NET Subjects

The release lets candidates check recorded responses and file paid online objections that will be reviewed by experts before final keys are used to decide results and eligibility.

Overview

  • The National Testing Agency posted provisional answer keys, question papers and candidates’ recorded response sheets for 84 UGC‑NET subjects on August 16, 2026 so test takers can estimate scores.
  • An online challenge window opened the same day and stays open until 11:59 p.m. on August 18 with a ₹200 processing fee per question that will be refunded if a challenge is accepted.
  • Provisional keys for English, Commerce and Sociology were withheld and a special committee will examine reported errors before a separate public notice issues for those subjects.
  • NTA will have subject experts review all valid objections, publish a revised final answer key, and then prepare results and eligibility lists for JRF, assistant professor posts and PhD admissions.
  • Candidates were urged to download and preserve their response sheets now, use only official NTA channels for updates, and note that no grievances will be accepted after the challenge window or final result declaration.
