Overview
- The National Testing Agency declared final UGC‑NET results for 84 subjects and withheld outcome for English, Commerce and Sociology after a review panel found factual, typographical, translation and formatting errors.
- The panel reported misspelt scholars’ names, garbled book titles, repeated questions and flawed question wording, and it recommended that the three examinations be re‑conducted.
- Candidates who tried to access scorecards for the three subjects may see an “Invalid Application Number/Password” message because results for those papers will be issued only after the retests are completed and evaluated.
- The retests are scheduled with English in Shift 1 on Sept 9 from 9:00–12:00, Commerce in Shift 2 on Sept 9 from 15:00–18:00, and Sociology in Shift 1 on Sept 10 from 9:00–12:00.
- The UGC‑NET determines eligibility for JRF, assistant professorship and PhD admission and NTA has urged candidates to use only its official portal and to download digital scorecards since no physical marksheets are issued.
