NTA Extends JEE Main 2026 Photo Verification Deadline to January 15

Attestation by Class-I Gazetted Officers or Indian Embassy officials is now accepted for candidates flagged after UIDAI photo mismatches.

Overview

  • Affected applicants must upload an attested certificate with a recent photograph in PDF via the link sent to their registered email by January 15.
  • Attestation can be provided by a school or college head, a Class-I Gazetted Officer such as a Tehsildar, SDM or DM, or an Indian Embassy officer for NRI candidates.
  • Candidates are required to carry a printed copy of the attested certificate to the exam centre for physical verification on the test day.
  • The verification step follows instances where application photos did not match UIDAI records, often when registration used identity documents other than Aadhaar.
  • For help, candidates can call 011-40759000 or 011-69227700 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in, and media reports indicate the Session 1 city slip is expected before January 7 with exams scheduled for January 21–30.
