NTA Declares UGC‑NET Results for 84 Subjects and Schedules Re‑exams for Three Papers

An expert review found factual and language errors in the English, Commerce and Sociology papers, so those tests will be retaken on September 9–10 with no extra fee.

Overview

  • The National Testing Agency published UGC‑NET June 2026 results for 84 subjects on Friday and made scorecards available on the official portal for those candidates.
  • An NTA‑appointed expert panel identified factual, typographical, translation and language mistakes in the English, Commerce and Sociology papers, and the agency set re‑examination dates for September 9–10 following the panel’s recommendation.
  • Candidates who sat the three affected papers cannot access their scorecards now and may see an “Invalid Application Number/Password” message; their results will be issued only after the re‑exams are held and evaluated.
  • For the 84 subjects covered in the current release, about 6.07 lakh candidates appeared, more than 97,000 qualified for PhD admission and over 4,000 qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship, and subject‑ and category‑wise cut‑offs were published using finalised answer keys.
  • Separately, NTA released final answer keys and results for the Joint CSIR‑UGC NET (five subjects) after a provisional‑key challenge window, and the agency reminded candidates that eligibility verification will be done later by the concerned authorities.
