  • NTA Director General Abhishek Singh told news agencies on Sunday that NEET-UG will move to computer-based testing (CBT) “very soon” and that a high-powered task force led by Nandan Nilekani is guiding the change.
  • The agency is exploring artificial intelligence to monitor exam activity, analyse logs and detect anomalous patterns as part of a broader fraud-prevention system.
  • Transitioning more than two million candidates to CBT will require certifying many more computer test centres, expanding server capacity, and building hardened cybersecurity and outage-contingency protocols.
  • The NTA has not given a specific implementation date and says rollout will depend on completed infrastructure upgrades, validated security safeguards, and successful pilots before any domestic or cross-border offering.
