NSE Schedules Saturday Mock Trading Across Equities, Commodities and Currencies

The exchange characterizes it as a routine systems test with simulated trades only.

Overview

  • The mock sessions on August 30 will cover the capital market, commodity derivatives and currency derivatives segments.
  • In the capital market, a block deal window opens at 8:45 a.m., normal trading runs 9:15–10:10 a.m., the closing session is around 10:20–10:30 a.m., and trade modification is allowed until 10:40 a.m.
  • Commodity and currency derivatives will operate roughly 9:00–10:10 a.m., with trade modification permitted until 10:20 a.m.
  • A re-login window from 1:30–2:00 p.m. will test connectivity, and the circular states the exercise will run from the Disaster Recovery site.
  • Trades and prices will be simulated with no pay-in or payout obligations, no new software will be released during the drill, and while some reports link it to a mandatory migration that the NSE has not confirmed, members have been advised to shift to NEAT+ 7.8.3 before 7.8.2 is discontinued on September 6.
