  • The Landesamt für Ausbildung, Fortbildung und Personalangelegenheiten der Polizei confirmed assignments of 39 officers to Spain and 25 to France for the 2025 summer season.
  • The deployment operates under the 2005 Prüm Treaty, an agreement among eleven EU member states to deepen cross-border police collaboration.
  • NRW officers will patrol hotspots including Mallorca’s Calvia, Santanyi and Arta, Tenerife’s Puerto de la Cruz, La Gomera and Fuerteventura, as well as Cadiz on the Spanish mainland.
  • In France, officers are slated to support local forces in Saint-Tropez, Le Havre, Dunkerque and Grimaud on the Côte d’Azur.
  • Personnel with strong foreign language skills were selected to support local police and aid German holidaymakers in emergencies such as theft or document loss.
