Novo Nordisk Survey Finds Wegovy Users Report Sharp Drop in ‘Food Noise’

The company’s EASD presentation reflects self-reported survey results that have not been peer reviewed.

Overview

  • Presented in Vienna at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting, the INFORM survey of 550 U.S. Wegovy users found the share reporting constant food thoughts fell from 62% before treatment to 16% on the drug.
  • Respondents also reported perceived gains in well-being and behavior, including 64% better mental health, 76% healthier lifestyles, and 80% healthier habits.
  • Participants were predominantly women (86%), with an average age of 53, and 81% had been on semaglutide for at least four months.
  • Researchers and independent reports note the retrospective, company-sponsored survey relies on recall and self-report, so it cannot determine causation or isolate effects from weight loss.
  • Coverage points to ongoing cultural and safety questions about the concept of “food noise,” including anecdotal reports of diminished pleasure among some GLP-1 users.
