November's PlayStation Plus Essential Games Released; Subscribers Respond Negatively to Selection
Sony Interactive Entertainment's new line-up for PlayStation Plus includes Aliens Fireteam Elite, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, and Dragon Ball: The Breakers; though recent price increase and perceived weakness of game selection spark dissatisfaction among subscribers.
- November's PlayStation Plus Essential games have been released, which includes Aliens Fireteam Elite, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, and Dragon Ball: The Breakers. Subscribers can claim these games until December 4.
- PlayStation Plus Essential is the entry-level membership, offering access to few 'free' games each month. The higher-priced tiers, Extra and Premium, provide access to a library of up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, including Ubisoft+ Classics, game trials, cloud streaming, and access to the Classics Catalogue.
- Sony implemented a price increase of up to 35% for PlayStation Plus subscription prices in September, which resulted in dissatisfaction among some subscribers. The price rise affected 12-month subscription plans for the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers.
- All PlayStation Plus members receive a 15% discount on content available through the new Sony Pictures Core app. The app is added to PS4 and PS5 consoles, allowing users to buy or rent up to 2,000 movies.
