Overview
- Employers must pay wages by Thursday, Nov. 6, the fifth business day, as required by Article 459 of the CLT.
- The five counted days this month are Nov. 1 (Saturday), 3 (Monday), 4 (Tuesday), 5 (Wednesday) and 6 (Thursday).
- Finados on Sunday, Nov. 2, does not affect the calculation, and pay is not advanced for those who worked that Sunday.
- The deadline applies to all employees regardless of shift patterns or weekend schedules.
- Late payment can trigger monetary correction from the 1st of the month, possible indirect dismissal for repeated delays, lawsuits or union actions, MTE fines of R$176.03 per affected worker and MPT investigations.
