Overview

  • The Serious Incident Response Team laid the seventh charge after receiving a March report from a woman known to Const. William McNutt about an alleged January 2023 assault in Shubenacadie.
  • McNutt has been suspended without pay since January 2024 following earlier allegations that led to three counts of sexual assault and related offences laid in July 2024.
  • He has pleaded not guilty to all seven charges and is to appear in Shubenacadie provincial court under undertakings that bar contact with complainants and require him to remain in Canada.
  • Assistant Commissioner Dennis Daley confirmed the RCMP is fully cooperating with SIRT and has initiated an internal code-of-conduct review into McNutt’s conduct.
  • Trials are scheduled in Shubenacadie in October 2025 and in Amherst in January 2026 to address offences spanning from a 2019 incident in Northport through the 2024 allegations.
