Nov. 7 Transport Walkouts Disrupt Italian Cities From Transit to Highways

Unions are pressing pay, staffing and anti-privatization demands that target projects like Milano Next.

Overview

  • In Milan, ATM warns service may not be guaranteed from 8:45 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to end of service, with metro, trams and buses operating in the two guarantee windows.
  • Autostrade per l’Italia’s II° Tronco Milano staff are striking in shifts from 2:00–6:00, 10:00–14:00 and 18:00–22:00, potentially affecting toll operations and network management across much of Lombardy and adjoining routes.
  • In Palermo, AMAT personnel stop from 8:30–17:30 and 20:30–23:59, while in Latina CSC Mobilità stages all-day stoppages in three windows: start–6:30, 9:30–13:30 and from 16:30 to close.
  • The planned ATM stoppage in Messina for the 16:01–20:00 window has been reported as revoked.
  • In Lazio rail services, a Coopservice strike may reduce train cleaning and station decor activities, and further actions are scheduled with a Volotea walkout on Nov. 14 and a national general strike on Nov. 28.
