Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi will be sidelined for months due to a groin injury.
The injury was aggravated while Awoniyi was playing for Nigeria during the international break.
Awoniyi, who signed from Union Berlin for a club-record fee, has scored 15 goals in 39 games for Forest in the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old will also miss the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria in January.
Forest are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 13 points from 12 games.
