Nottingham Forest Wins Final Approval for Peter Taylor Stand Rebuild

Overview

  • Rushcliffe Borough Council unanimously approved on June 26 the demolition and rebuilding of the Peter Taylor Stand at the City Ground.
  • The new stand will increase capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 seats as part of a masterplan to boost overall stadium capacity from just under 30,000 to about 40,000.
  • Outline planning permission covers up to 170 residential apartments adjacent to the rebuilt stand, pending further design approvals.
  • Nottingham Forest has committed nearly £3 million in S106 contributions for local upgrades, including bus services, school expansions and cycle improvements.
  • Work can begin once conditions such as securing replacement facilities for the Nottingham Rowing Club’s Britannia Boathouse are met, with construction expected during the 2025/26 season.
