Nottingham Forest Name 22-Player Europa League Squad as Homegrown Shortfall Leaves Hutchinson Out

UEFA’s club-trained quota reduced Forest’s list below the standard 25, constraining selection for the league phase.

Overview

  • Forest submitted a 22-man list for the Europa League league phase because they have only one club-trained player rather than the four required under UEFA rules.
  • Record £37.5 million signing Omari Hutchinson was left out of the league-phase squad.
  • Other omissions include loan arrival Oleksandr Zinchenko, as well as Angus Gunn, Jair Cunha, Cuiabano, Jota Silva and Taiwo Awoniyi.
  • UEFA regulations allow clubs to make up to three changes to their squad between the league stage and the knockout phase.
  • Hutchinson, 21, has made two Premier League appearances as a late substitute since joining Forest.
