Notre-Dame Restoration Workers Honored in Special Légion d’Honneur Promotion

A total of 101 artisans and professionals involved in the cathedral's reconstruction are recognized alongside 1,601 other recipients of France's highest honors.

The January 2025 Légion d’Honneur promotion includes 482 recipients, while 1,119 individuals are awarded the National Order of Merit.
A special category recognizes 101 individuals for their contributions to the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris, following the devastating 2019 fire.
Key figures honored include Philippe Jost, head of the public establishment overseeing the cathedral's restoration, and chief architect Philippe Villeneuve.
Other notable recipients include Nobel laureate Jean Tirole, former ministers Marlène Schiappa and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, and cultural figures like Étienne Daho and Camille Cottin.
The honors celebrate service to France’s public interest and cultural heritage, with distinctions ranging from Chevalier to Grand-Croix.
