Overview
- Nothing started the stable Nothing OS 5.0 rollout for the Phone (3) on Monday, October 12, with over-the-air installs delivered in staged waves that vary by region and carrier.
- Phone (3) owners can check for the update by going to Settings > System > System update and will receive the build when it reaches their device and region.
- The release bundles Nothing-specific design changes including the Geist typeface, refreshed icons and spacing, a redesigned Launcher, new Micrographics and Gooey clock faces, batch home-screen editing, and Glyph app controls and widgets.
- Because the update is based on Android 17, it also adds platform features such as Live Updates in the status bar, per-app dark theme, split panels for notifications and Quick Settings, expanded Quick Share and updated privacy toggles.
- Nothing published a device-by-device schedule that stages stable rollouts for other phones from early November through mid-January 2027 to accommodate carrier certification, regional testing and server load, so users should expect variable timing and watch for their own OTA notification.
